Personal Time Off / Sick Time Rules:    TLC Nursing’s Sick Time Rules are stipulated by the Commissioner of Labor pursuant to 21 V.S.A. § 487 and Act 69 of the 2016 General Assembly (“Act”).  Copy of the regulation can be found at: https://labor.vermont.gov/sites/labor/files/doc_library/Earned-Sick-Time-Rules.pdf

A newly hired employee. An employee begins accruing time on the first date of actual work. An employer may require a waiting period for a newly hired employee of up to one year. During this waiting period, an employee shall accrue earned sick time pursuant to the Act, but an employer may prohibit the use of earned sick time until after the employee has completed the waiting period.

As a travel staff, you will need to have continuously worked for TLC Nursing for a period of one year before using PTO/Sick Time.   You may use any and all of your PTO/Sick Time after the one year. If you resign or complete a contract, but do not immediately start a new one, your sick time accrued and waiting period will reset if/when you rejoin the company and take a new contract.   

PTO constitutes payment for the taxable hourly wage. GSA Per Diem meal allowance and housing stipend are NOT included in PTO pay.

Referral Bonus Qualifications

  • The TLC Nursing  Referral Bonus Program is effective February 1, 2023. All referrals submitted on or after this date are eligible for the referral bonus.
  • The person referred must be hired by TLC Nursing and work 520 hours for contract roles and 90 days for direct hire roles to receive the referral bonus.
  • Active TLC Nursing employees and non-employees can participate in our bonus program.
  • Unlimited referral bonuses are allowed per Ambassador.

Legal Policy

To qualify for the TLC Nursing Associates, Inc Referral Bonus Program, you can only refer a listed position for temporary staffing services or for permanent placement services. Your referral(s) must be new and cannot have previously worked for TLC Nursing Associates, Inc; Your referral(s) must be hired by TLC Nursing and work a minimum of 520 hours for contract roles or 90-days for direct hire management/non-management roles to receive your referral bonus; Referral bonuses will be paid one time per referral; This program excludes any TLC Nursing Associates, Inc. employee whose work responsibilities include recruitment, hiring, or selection of new employees; Each referral is subject to a one-time payment, and the referred-candidate may not be referred an additional instance; Payment will be made directly to the employee’s currently indicated method of payment; Referral requests must be done on your own time and not as a part of your regular work duties; This program is strictly voluntary, and there is no obligation to participate or refer any candidate to the referral program; Referral program may be canceled at any time.
